COVID Animal Relief Fund

The Animal Relief Fund – COVID19 is to help keep people with their beloved pets during this pandemic. Many are losing the ability to pay for essential supplies and veterinary care for pets and horse rescues, wildlife sanctuaries and other organizations are struggling with staffing and resource shortages

Your emergency gift will help organizations respond to this crisis and the ripple effect on animals in need due to increased poverty now and in the months ahead. The fund will give support for rescue organizations to respond to the crisis while addressing infrastructure and capacity efforts through fundraising, education and awareness.

Contributions to the fund are being used to provide veterinary care, supply pet food pantries, horse feed and animal care supplies, as well as other costs related to caring for animals during the outbreak. 100% of the proceeds to this fund are allocated to nonprofit rescue groups.

Southern Arizona Community Impact Fund

The Greater Green Valley Community Foundation is closely monitoring COVID19 nationally, state-wide and in Pima and Santa Cruz counties. There is still much that is still unknown, and it is a rapidly evolving situation. Our focus is on preparing and supporting nonprofits for the impact of this pandemic. Working across our community with our network of community partners, stakeholders and donors, we will provide needed financial support to meet the needs of individuals and families as well as the nonprofits who serve them.

With the assistance from the ‘Better Together Southern Arizona Coalition’, the GGVCF has established the COVID19 Community Impact Fund, with an initial $10K that will be used to support community needs in response to COVID-19. Donations to this fund will be used to provide direct support for local organizations that work with people and communities who may be most affected by COVID-19. This will likely include support for individuals and families who need access to food and/or healthcare, supplementing lost wages and/or housing costs or support for agencies who work with vulnerable populations such as seniors. 100% of donations received for this fund will be allocated to nonprofits.

Although the impact of the Covid-19 crisis is just now being felt, its affects are already evident within the community.  These include lost wages from company layoffs and furloughs, parents forced to stay home for childcare, loss of medical insurance, lack of income to pay rent or mortgages, expanded demand for supplemental food sources and other needs not yet foreseen.  Some governmental assistance will soon be forthcoming which will help but will not be enough or arrive in time to meet immediate and future needs.

Now is the time to step up and help your neighbors who are in need.  Please consider giving a donation today to help your neighbors here in Green Valley, Sahuarita, Amado and Arivaca, Tubac and Tumacacori.

  • Working with small-scale wireless internet service providers (WISPs) to serve isolated areas with no connectivity
  • Exploring funding options including grants and a community sponsorship program
