Teams and concerned citizens spent Saturday morning February 1st, 2025 abating litter on the Santa Cruz River in Tumacacori.
FEBRUARY 1st RIVER CLEANUP STATS:
We ordered four roll offs; two for bagged trash only, two for rimmed and un-rimmed tires only. The weight capacity of a rollover is:
One 30-foot roll off holds 4 to 8 thousand pounds or three to five tons
One 40-foot roll off holds 8 to ten thousand pounds or five to six tons
All four roll offs were filled to maximum capacity. The bagged trash roll offs included boards, large metal cans, appliances including a dishwasher.
Bagged trash, metal containers, appliances, etc., in two 30-foot roll offs, filled to capacity = 10 tons of trash
Rimmed and unrimed tires in two 40-foot roll offs, filled to (nearly) over capacity = 8 to 10 tons or 20 tons of tires.
Total estimated trash, debris and tires removed is 30 tons.
